Ms. Cathy M. Stith of North Chesterfield, VA departed this life on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at her residence. She was born in Sussex County, VA to the late Jasper Lee and Lottie Mae Stith.

Cathy was baptized at Hunter Quarter Baptist Church, Stony Creek, VA. She graduated from Petersburg High School, Class of 1973. After graduating high school, Cathy matriculated to Virginia Commonwealth University (MCV) where she majored in Nursing and graduated in May of 1977. Cathy followed her career aspiration and became a Registered Nurse. In her spring semester of 1975, she became a member of The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Theta Rho Chapter, VCU.

After forty-nine years of dedicated service, Cathy retired in April of 2026 from Richmond Public Schools. While in service with RPS, she worked as the school Nurse Health Coordinator for the school-based health center at Martin Luther King, Jr. Pre-School and as the Health Specialist for the Head Start program.

Cooking and making sure family gatherings took place for fellowship and fun were of importance to Cathy. She loved seeing her family and close friends eating and enjoying one another.

Cathy's memories will be cherished by her two brothers, Larry Lee Stith (Deborah) of Richmond, VA and Olonzo Leo Stith of Petersburg, VA; four nieces, Brianna (Kyle), Kiah, Alexandria and Shania; two nephews, Brandon and Nigel; one great niece, Zenia; first cousins, Mamie Hamilton (Art), Gladys Nevells, Ruth Stith, Hortense Stith, Barbara Jones (James), Gloria Hill, Woodrow Stith, Cynthia Pegram-Wyche (Moses), Nelson Lee, Phyllis Suttles and Raymond Scott; second cousin/brother, Alphonso Stith; aunt, Emma Stith; and many other cousins, other relatives and friends; among them Neal Young, Rosalind "Pepsi" Pulliam, Charlene Rodgers (George) and her Pointer Street neighbors.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 16, 2026, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Neal Young, eulogist.
