On October 10, 2026, the Baugh family lay to rest the soul of Bridgette E. Baugh. As Psalms 118:24 (KJV) reads, “This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Today, we will focus not on the sadness of parting, but, instead, fondly remember her and wish her a well-deserved rest.
Bridgette Emily Baugh, age 60, passed away on September 28, 2026. With a father in the military, she and her younger siblings lived in many different places including Germany.
Bridgette always carried a sense of joy, warmth, and kindness with her throughout life. She had a natural way of helping people, whether through a big act of love or one of the many small things she did simply because she cared. Funny and quick to share a joke or a smile, Bridgette enjoyed meeting people and could strike up a conversation with just about anyone, even a stranger in a store or someplace she had never been before. She appreciated life’s simple joys too, whether it was enjoying a drink on the porch, having a good conversation, cooking something for those she loved, looking into gardening, or watching a movie with her family.
Bridgette was curious, intelligent, and always interested in trying and learning new things. Throughout her life, her many interests reflected the different sides of who she was. In her younger years, she modeled and enjoyed fashion, excelled in school, and served in the military. She loved science fiction, especially Star Trek, and had a deep appreciation for music ranging from classical and electronic music to rock, with favorites including Daft Punk and Nine Inch Nails. She also had a great love, pride in, and appreciation for Black culture and the creativity, music, style, and community that surrounded it.
Above all, Bridgette loved her family. Her husband, Clarence H. Baugh, held an especially treasured place in her heart, and the love they shared was an important part of her life. She was deeply proud of her two daughters, Rachel and Raven, and rarely missed an opportunity to talk about them or Clarence. Her love extended beyond her immediate family to her extended family and to the many other people she welcomed into her life with the same warmth and generosity.
Bridgette was also a fighter. She was strong and resourceful, meeting life’s challenges with determination while holding on to the humor, curiosity, and joy that made her who she was. She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother, a caring family member and friend, and someone whose kindness could be felt in both the biggest gestures and the smallest moments. Bridgette brought warmth wherever she went, and the love, laughter, conversations, and memories she shared will remain with the many people whose lives she touched.
Bridgette was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Baugh; parents, Rachel Graves Allen and Gregory Allen, Sr.; grandfather, Frank Graves, Sr.; and other beloved family members.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Rachel and Raven Baugh; sister, Francine Graves; brother, Gregory Allen Junior; nephews, Calvin, Keon and Camondrey; nieces, Mia and Sharlei; grandmother, Emily Graves; brothers-in-law, Thomas Baugh (Lockie Baugh), Kim Baugh (Marie Baugh) and Charles Rhone; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
