Brenda Ann Hill of Petersburg, VA, was born on January 13, 1954, to the late Laura Yates Branch and William R. Branch. She departed this life on June 28, 2025, at Bon Secours Southside Medical Center, Petersburg, VA.

Brenda, affectionately known as "BB", attended Peabody High School. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Helen Branch; three brothers, William Branch, George Branch and Marvin Lacy; and her sister-in-law, Mryna Branch.

She leaves to cherish fond memories to her lifetime devoted companion of twenty-four years, William A. Smith, Jr.; daughter, Yolanda B. Ward; grandson, Justen Michael Ward; godchildren, DaBryan Taylor, Elizah Taylor, James Lewis and Lashina "She-She" Batts; siblings, Calvin R. Branch, Rose Lena Lee (Roosevelt) and Deloris "Maxine" Brown; aunt, Shirley Kizzie; cousins, Horace Clifton, Boris Kizzie, Samuel Kizzie, Michael Yates, Arthur Yates, Crystal Yates and Brenda Butcher; devoted friends, Martha Coley, Beulah Williams, Charles H. Brooks, Emanuel Chambliss and Chevelle Brown. She will also be missed by her Delectable Heights Family and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family extends special thanks to the Staff, ICU team and physicians at Bon Secours Southside Medical Center, Petersburg, VA, for the care, compassion and kindness shown to our beloved Brenda.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 5, 2025, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, Pastor Charles L. Williams, eulogist. The interment to follow at Dinwiddie Memorial Park.
