BaShaw V. Mason, affectionately known as "BA, Gunner, and BA from VA", son of Voncille Edmonds and Larry R. Mason, Sr. and Sylvia Mason, was born in Petersburg, Virginia on October 22, 1984. He entered eternal rest at Bon Secours Southside Medical Center on December 20, 2025.

BA attended Petersburg and Prince George County Schools. He had a love for driving so he put himself through truck driving school and received his CDL license.  He found joy in working on other people's cars as well as his own three vehicles.  His favorite football team was the "Tampa Bay Buccaneers." For which his father, a Cowboys fan, and him would always joke with one another every time one of their teams played. He found joy in listening to and making music, as well as spending time with family and friends and his favorite dog, King.

BA was preceded in death by his mother, Voncille Edmonds; sister, Vonshia Edmonds; grandparents, T'Arthur and Audrey Mason and Norman and Mable Louise Harris.

Left to cherish his memory are his two beloved daughters, Oliva Jones-Mason and Khyani Abbott; one bonus daughter who he loved like his very own, Sierra Jones; his devoted parents, Larry R. Mason, Sr. and Sylvia Mason; siblings, Larry R. Mason, Jr., Darryl Mason, Marcus Edmonds, Katrina Mason, Antwan Johnson (Sandra), William Johnson III (Dominique), and Tiffany Johnson; best friends and brothers, Shawn Dunn and Phillip Sam; a devoted friend, Shannon; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, truck buddies and friends; and extended family, Chanel Mason, Jahri Bullock and Zakira Bullock.

Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 30, 2025, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Joseph Parham, eulogist. The interment to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
