Annie W.
Ellis
Dec 2, 1935 — May 18, 2025
On Sunday, May 18, 2025, Mrs. Annie W. Ellis entered into eternal rest at her residence in Petersburg, Virginia. She was a great mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend who will be missed dearly.
She was born in Dinwiddie on December 2, 1935, the daughter of the late Thomas Williams and Louise Williams. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Hoarce Ellis, four uncles, Willie, Henry, Thomas, and Bernard Ford, and her aunt, Joyce Mason.
At an early age, she joined Gravel Run Baptist Church and later moved her membership to Metropolitan Baptist Church, where she served on the Women's Auxiliary.
Annie attended Dinwiddie Public Schools. She worked at Southside Training Center, she then moved on to Lucy Corr Nursing Home, where she retired from.
Annie leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Alonzo Crowell (Vanessa); granddaughter, Antoinette Talley, and grandson, Jerome Talley, brother, Jerome Williams; brother-in-law, Charlie Ellis; godsons, Larry Gray and Ricky Jones; close friend/caregiver, Sandra "Cookie" Walker; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. We the family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice Brittany Johnston for everything that was done to help us.
