Andre "Mane" Chappell, age 54, of Richmond, Virginia, was born on September 1, 1971, in Petersburg, Virginia. He departed this life on June 24, 2026.

Andre attended Petersburg High School and worked in the landscaping, painting and construction field. His last memorable workplace was StratAir Co. He also was a Cargo Freight Agent at Richmond International Airport.

Andre was the "Jack of all trades". He loved to listen to Rap and R&B music. He was known as the family DJ. He had a wide collection of music CDs. He enjoyed cooking, had a passion for fashion, and never missed an opportunity to wear his favorite cologne and present himself at his best. Andre was very comical and enjoyed making people laugh with his storytelling. He was a very kind man that stayed to himself. He was very helpful and would give you the shirt off of his back.

Andre was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Abraham; and his sister, Deyonda Chappell. He is survived by his mother, Annie Marie Chappell; brothers, Darnell Chappell and Kim Chappell; children, Treshaun Ellsworth and Deshawn Ellsworth; devoted aunts, Katie Christian (Donald) and Dora Chappell; uncles, Clarence Chappell  and Ernest Chappell; nieces, Keyoshaa Signor and Hydea Jones-Chappell; nephews, Dakimrie Scott and Aaron Scott; devoted cousins, Lisa Harris, LaTonya Muhammad and Patrice Rai; devoted friend, Tuwanna Barrett; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Andre will be truly missed. May God be pleased with him!

Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 1, 2026, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, Elder Paula Neal, eulogist. The interment to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
