Alease L.
Anderson
Dec 27, 1967 — Sep 6, 2025
Alease Anderson, 57, of Petersburg, VA, departed this life, Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Bon Secours Southside Medical Center. Ms. Anderson was born in Petersburg, VA, to the late Beatrice and Parker Anderson.
She was a graduate of Matoaca High School and John Tyler Community College (Brightpoint Community College) with an Associate Degree in Social Work. She was employed as waitress at Shoney's in Chester, VA. She also was employed at Southside Training Center and Agape Services both in Petersburg, VA. Alease owned her own lawn care company that served the Tri-Cities Area. She recently pledged her membership to Metropolitan Baptist Church after being a longtime member of High Street Church of Christ.
Alease was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was known to say anything that will make you laugh or grin. Alease was always loving and kind. She kept to herself but of course when she hit the dance floor, she transformed into someone else. Alease would give you her heart and the shirt off her back; however she definitely do not take any mess cause she wasn't built like that.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Alease and John Anderson and Gladys and Samuel Sykes; two brothers, Willie and Wayne Anderson; one uncle, Henry Sykes and one aunt, Florine Patterson.
Alease leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Nadezsha Myrick (Edward) and one son, Kevin Myrick, Jr. (Destiny); two grandsons, Ronan and Ramell Myrick all of Petersburg, VA; a loving and devoted friend, John Bowan; devoted sisters and best friends, Mary Anderson (Alonzo), Erica Taylor, Michelle Hill and Chandra Ward all of Petersburg, VA; a foster brother, Dominque Gordon of Hopewell, VA; four nieces, Adrian Anderson, Zykirra Hill, Iesha Hill and Makyla Ward; one nephew, Keyonte Hill; an uncle, Jeffrey Sykes (Sandra) of Philadelphia, PA; three aunts, Darlina Austin and Clairetha Parker both of Philadelphia, PA, and Gail Sykes of Petersburg, VA; friends, Theresa Coles of Petersburg, VA and John Smith, Jr. (Rodney) both of Petersburg, VA; a host of cousins and friends too numerous to name.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 P.M., Sunday, September 28, 2025, in the Chapel of J.M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA.
